Obituary of Frankie Buchanan

Frankie Brooks Buchanan, 76, of the Savannah Community, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. She was born on July 28, 1941 in Jackson County and was a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church. Frankie spent most of her career employed at Buster Brown. She was the daughter of the late Varn and Otelia Brooks of Sutton Branch. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by several siblings; Burnette Brooks, Tommy Brooks, Melvin Brooks, Merckie McMahan and Ella Mae Brooks. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Ronald Buchanan Four Children- Melissa (Steve) McMahan, Carl (Regina) Buchanan, James (Pam) Buchanan, Martha (Pete) Thomasson Nine Grandchildren- Josh, Chelsea, Savannah, Cody, Kayla, Lyndsay, Tyler, Brianna (Trent) and Jacob Two Great Grandchildren- Emma and Madison All of Sylva 1 Brother- Carl of Crossville, TN 1 Sister- Bertha of Sylva As well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Beloved by extended church and camping family, she will be missed by all. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday November 30 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Roger Stewman and Wayne Price officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Old Savannah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. . .
