Obituary of Emma Jo Nicholson Robinson

Emma Jo Nicholson Robinson, 86, a lifelong resident of Jackson County went home to be with her Lord Friday, December 29, 2017. She was born March 21, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She is the daughter of the late Edwin and the late Ora (Hooper) Brown. Emma Jo loved gardening, crafts, gospel music, and most of all worshiping and praising her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Tuckasegee Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Emma Jo is preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Nicholson, and 3 brothers, W.A. Brown, Lane Brown, and Henry Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Hoover Robinson; 2 sons, Harold (Phyllis) Nicholson, and James (Wanda) Nicholson of Tuckasegee; one brother, Dean Brown of Franklin, TN; one sister, Imogene Broom of Tuckasegee; 5 grandchildren: Dustin (Megan) Nicholson, Jeremiah (Katie) Nicholson, Kyle Nicholson; Jennifer (Eric) Mathis; Kayla (Zane) Henry, and 6 great grandchildren: Tiffany Nicholson, Kaitlyn Nicholson, Cassin Mathis, Hayden Nicholson, Landen Henry, and Maverick Henry.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 31st, 2017 from 6 until 8pm at Appalachian Funeral Services.

The funeral will be held on Monday, January 1st, 2018 at Tuckasegee Baptist Church at 1:00pm, with Revs. Claude Nicholson and Larry Perry officiating. Burial will be in Wood Cemetery following the service.
