Obituary of Faye Bryson Parker
Faye Bryson Parker, age 97, went to her forever home on January 7, 2018. She was born July 22, 1920 in Jackson County to Milt and Ella Mae Watson Bryson. Faye loved to tell stories of the good old days and cooking. She loved company and her sharp mind was one to treasure, she remembered every detail of the day even at the end of her time here on earth, and never has she met a stranger. You never had to worry about going hungry if you were in her presence, with her taking great pride in telling you how to cook some of the best country food you’ve ever tasted. Faye was known by many different names; Faye, Mrs. Faye, Mrs. Parker, Mom, but her greatest name was Maw Parker. She got to witness multiple generations of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life Andy Parker, a son Dennis “Dink” Parker, her brother Ray Bryson, sisters Kessie Reese and Nanny Arrington, and one granddaughter Mia.
Faye leaves behind three children; Lenoir (Bruce) Cabe, Jim (Gypsy) Parker, and Larry (Shirley) Parker. Grandchildren; Jerp Cooper, Mickey Cooper, Detra (JR) Soop, Andrea Cabe, Tonyea Cabe, Jeannie (Heath) McBride, Amanda (Casey) Seay, Andy (Latisha) Parker, Natasha (Johnny) Wilson and Leigha (Chris) Parker (whom she adopted and raised as her daughter). Faye also had 17 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Faye leaves behind many special friends that are considered family.
Visitation will be Thursday January 11th at Appalachian Funeral Services from 12:30 till 2 with the funeral to follow. Burial will be at Fairview Gardens. Pallbearers are Jerp Cooper, Andy Parker, Jordan Cooper, Anthony Soop, Austin Soop and George Burgess.
