Obituary of Barbara Ann Bryson

Barbara Ann Lamb Bryson, age 69, of Sylva passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Barbara was born September 8, 1948 in Marion, NC. She is the daughter of the late James W. Lamb and Evelyn Lamb-Biggerstaff. She was married to her husband, of 49 years, Ronnie Bryson. Barbara was a Sunday school teacher for 36 and a half years at New Hope Baptist Church. Also served as church clerk, led children's church and small children's Christmas play (director). She retired from Smoky Mountain High School where she worked for 26 years. In addition to her husband Ronnie, she is survived by one son Ronnie Bryson Jr; one daughter Emily Bryson (Michael) Jennings; three grandsons Travis, Brett, Todd Bryson; one brother Eddie Lamb and one sister Juanita Lamb Greene. She was preceded in death by one sister Linda Lamb Parker. Services will be held Sunday, January 14th at 3:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Ernie Jamison, Rev. Mike Moore and Rev. Earl Holden officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Ginger Farmer, PO Box 245. Sylva, NC 28779. Appalachian Funeral Services is handling arrangements for the family.
