Obituary of Betty Jo Hooper

Betty Jo Hooper passed away peacefully on January 13, 2108. She was born December 31, 1931 in Glenville, NC, to the late Henry Hayes Hooper and Julia Bryson Hooper. In addition to her parents, Betty Jo was preceded in death by her brothers Duane, Brownlow, and Wendell Hooper, and one half-sister Bessie Cecil Parker. Betty Jo graduated from Glenville School. She was a homemaker, school-bus driver, and Rural mail carrier. She is survived by her twin sister, Peggy Jean Smith Elliott of Hendersonville, NC; five children: three daughters, Debbie Sherman and husband Cyrus, of Glenville, Janice Dunwoody and husband Brooke Dunwoody, Weddington, Betty Jean Davis and husband Jeff Davis, Glenville, two sons, George Shook Jr. and wife Kim, Highlands, and Jim Shook and wife , Gretchen, Charlotte; five grandchildren, Kelby Shook and wife Danita Shook, California, Brittany Shook, Atlanta, Tyler Shook and wife Sara Shook of Franklin, Stephen Dunwoody, Columbia, S.C., Benjamin Davis, Glenville; four great grand children, Pailey and Wyatt Shook, Lilah and Violet Shook. Service will be at Mountain Bible Church (4536 Big Ridge Rd., Glenville, NC.) and burial will be at Mountain Bible/ Big Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday January 16th. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm, service at 2:00 pm, burial immediately following service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the cemetery fund @ Mountain Bible Church; P.O.
