Obituary of Arnold Dennis Owens

Arnold Dennis Owens, 67, of Cullowhee, passed away Friday January 12, 2018. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Jess and Selma Harris Owens. He enjoyed the outdoors and working with wood. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Wanda Nealey and his grandson, Austin Owens. He is survived by; Son- Jess Owens of Franklin 2 Daughters- Martha Melton (Billy) of Cullowhee Gorda Owens Taylor (Ray) of Liberty, SC 11 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson 6 Brothers- Daniel Owens of Balsam Grove, Harold Owens of Tuckasgee, Marvin Owens of Pickens, SC, Briss Owens of Easley, SC, Charles Owens of Tuckasegee and Carmel Owens of Sylva. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday January 19 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. David Luker officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Jackson Owen Cemetery.
