Obituary of Olin Houston Blanton

Olin Houston Blanton, 83, of Black Mountain/ Sylva, passed away Monday January 22, 2018. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Houston and Bessie Blanton. A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, Olin loved to fish and he loved to sing! A member of Rose Hill Baptist Church in Asheville, he was also a former member of Victory Baptist Church and Bee Tree Baptist Church in Asheville. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 41 years Pat Allison Blanton Daughter- Christy (Ronnie) Pee of Sylva Grandchildren- Alex and Sarah Sister- Georgie Mills of Hazelwood, NC Numerous nieces and nephews as well as his extended family also survive A Homegoing Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday January 27 at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Asheville. The Revs. Larry Carver and Ronnie Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the Service in the Fellowship Hall.
