Obituary of Mary Louise Cabe

Mary Louise Buchanan Cabe, 87, went home to be with her Lord, Friday January 28th, 2018, with her children by her side, after a period of declining health. Louise was born May 2, 1930 in Sylva, NC. She was the daughter of the late Edd and Clearsie (McMahan) Buchanan. She worked in the school cafeteria until her retirement in 1993(?). She loved quilting, canning, and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong member of Old Savannah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Glenn Cabe; 2 brothers Donald and Aldon, and 4 sisters Pauline, Frankie, Hilda, and Catherine. Louise is survived by her 2 sons; Arnold (Gladys) Cabe; Gary (Frances) Cabe, 4 grandchildren; Angie (Tim) Mills, Chad (Michelle) Cabe, Chris(Tammy) Cabe, Caitlin (Isaac) Jones, 8 great grandchildren Travis Mills, Tiffany Mills, Jacey Cabe, Cameron Cabe, Matthew Cabe, Anthony Cabe, Blake Cabe, and Joseph Mills. 2 Brothers; Ray Buchanan, Bud(Minnie) Buchanan 1 Sister; JoAnn (Alan) Garner Multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Jason Buchanan officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Old Savannah Church Cemetery. The family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Morningstar for the care and friendship that they gave to our mother and grandmother. She loved each of you dearly and your compassion will never be forgotten.
