Obituary of James Elroy Ammons

James Elroy Ammons, age 69, of Sylva passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Harris Regional Hospital. Mr. Ammons was born on December 26, 1948 to the late Jim and Libby Ammons. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra. Mr. Ammons was co-owner of Ammons Brothers Nursery. He loved all types of nature and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He is survived by two sisters; Mary Ammons and Sharon Kephart of Murphy; two brothers; his twin David "Joe" Ammons of Little Canada and Daniel (Debbie) Ammons of Fletcher. Also surviving are his loving friend Louise Williams and his little buddy Ryker Wyder. A graveside service will be held on Saturday March 31st at 1:00 p.m. at Wolf Mountain Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Owen officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening March 30th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Services.
