Obituary of Lester Sutton

Lester Sutton, age 81, of Young Harris, GA, formerly of Dillsboro passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He is the son of the late Homer and Bessie Sutton. In the early 1960's Lester began pastoring at various churches around Jackson County: Old Savannah, New Savannah, Jarrett Memorial, Buff Creek and Hamburg. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed being outdoors. He is survived by three children, Connie Celeste Smith, Kevin Shane Sutton and Nikki Perricone; three grandchildren, Anna Nichole Forsyth, Kennith Shane Sutton and Camryn Nichole; three great grandchildren, Ellison Jace Perricone, Savannah Rose Sutton and Nicholas Fred Forsyth; two sisters, Willa Jo Cheek and Eddis Christopher; one brother Ronnie Sutton. He was preceded in death by one grandson Kevin Kyle Sutton; two brothers and one sister. Lester was married to the late Joyce Watson Sutton for 43 years. Funeral Services will be held Friday April 20, 2018 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Locust Field Cemetery. Appalachian Funeral Services are handling arrangements for the family.
