Obituary of Alfred Melton

Alfred Melton passed away Friday morning, April 20th, 2018 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Woodford D. and Lillie Mae (Crawford) Melton. He was married to Gladys (Frady) Melton for 54 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters; Annie Mae Coggins and Pearlie Hoyle along with two brothers; Roy and Coy Melton. In addition to his wife, Gladys, Alfred leaves behind three sons; Ricky, Jim Ed and Tommy Melton, all of the home, and one daughter; Debbie (Ricky) Duncan of Bakersville, NC. He is also survived by one granddaughter; Melissa (Bryan) Shuford of Spruce Pine, NC, and two great grandchildren; Isaac and Abigail Shuford. One brother; Paul (Rose) Melton also survives. No services are planned. Appalachian Funeral Services is serving the family.
