Obituary of Lynda Karen Buchanan

Lynda Brown Buchanan, age 62, of Sylva passed away Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Sarah "Sally" Cowan Brown. She was employed at Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, NC at the time of her passing. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandson Noah. She loved camping and spending time with family and friends, especially her Shady Grove Gang. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by numerous uncles and one aunt. She is survived by one daughter; Myra (Dewayne) Pruett and one grandson; Noah Pruett. She is further survived by several cousins, including one special cousin; Bonnie (Freddie) Sutton and her children; Brandon (Kim) Sutton and Scott (Maureen) Sutton. Also surviving is her former husband; Tim Buchanan, with whom she continued to have a close relationship. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Appalachian Funeral Services chapel with Rev. Jason Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Stillwell Cemetery. Appalachian Funeral Services is assisting the family.
