Obituary of Michael McKee Nicholson

Michael "Peeked" Nicholson, 74, of Cullowhee, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday May 9, 2018. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County he was the son of the late Cyrus and Katie McKee Nicholson. A U.S. Air Force Veteran, he received the Air Medal of Honor. He enjoyed detailing automobiles, cooking and traveling around the country in his truck. He also was an avid reader. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Michael Timothy Nicholson, and by his sister Dorothy Swift. He is survived by; 3 Daughters- Patricia Melton (Steve) of Cullowhee Tina Thomas of Tuckasegee Olivia Little (Lee) of Tuckasegee 1 Son- Anthony Nicholson of Webster Honorary Daughter- Lisa Hooper 10 Grandchildren- Lindsey Broom, Travis Arrwood, Jordan Stephens, Olivia Stephens, Taylor Thomas, Tyler Nicholson, Zachary Nicholson, Stacey Lowe, Katlyn Little, Mason Little 9 Great Grandchildren Cousins- David "Crash" Nicholson, Kenneth Nicholson Also survived by his triple threat; Teeny Tiny Tot A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 pm Thursday May 17 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Earl Holden officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Military Right will be conducted by American Legion Post 104, Sylva, NC.
