My God comfort the family during this time of loss. Fred was certainly a good man, and through a brief period as my boss, had an impact on my life. I enjoyed working for him in the maintenance section of the Blue Ridge Parkway division in Balsam as a young youth. He will certainly be missed.

I worked with Fred for 6 years. His aditude and smile every morning would cheer anyone up. He has impacted my life in so many positive ways. The success i have had at work these past years is because of what Fred has teached me. He has been the greatest teacher i have ever had. Fred could take the biggest pile of junk and make it work. There has been so many occasions where everyone has stood around looking at something trying to figure out how to fix it or make it work and all Fred would have to do is glance and it and he would know exactly what to do. I will miss having that person that i could go to if i ever have a problem. He was one of the hardest working, smartest, funniest people i have ever known. I will miss you always Fred. god bless you

Fred had a positive impact on everyone that he met including me. He was a great teacher and mentor that made the people around him better. He was the kind of friend that everyone needed in their lives. We know he is in a better place but we are all going to miss that "ya-son" that he always said as he was teaching you something new.
