Obituary of Inez Sluder Mathis

Inez Sluder Mathis, age 86, of Sylva died Monday, June 4, 2018 at Harris Regional Hospital. Ms. Mathis was born May 23, 1932 in Sylva, NC. She is the daughter of the late General and the late Parlee (Mills) Sluder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two children Tom Mills and Brenda Sue Mathis. Ms. Mathis is survived by her children Patsy (Sam) Tucker, Robert (Kathy) Mathis, Ronnie Mathis; a daughter-in-law, Kimi Kai Bradley; four grandchildren, Scott Tucker, Charlie Mills, Jonathan Bradley, Travis Mathis; three great-grandchildren, Holly Tucker, Jeff Tucker, Hannah Mills; two great-great-grandchildren Haylen Bradley and Lane Dean Mathis. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday June 8th in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Addie Cemetery.
