Obituary of Viola Evelyn Gentry

Viola Evelyn Gentry, 91, of Webster, went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2018.

Born in Robbinsville, NC, she was the daughter of Bulfordard Colvard and Jane Postell Colvard West.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, at Appalachian Funeral Home (Sylva).

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Balsam Missionary Baptist Church, followed by the burial in church cemetery.

An avid deer hunter, she loved being outdoors. Above all, Viola loved her family and her Balsam Missionary Baptist Church family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gentry; two sons, Ronnie and Dale Gentry; sister Zonia Phillips.

Viola is survived by two sons, Carroll (Nancy) and Danny (Barbara); seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Geraldine Mauck (Bill), Grace Bryson (Troy), and Sonja Smiley (Bobby); several nieces and nephews; special loved ones, Nyaga and Lois Mwaniki, and Terry and Ruby Crisp.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice Care.
