Obituary of Dorthy Lorene Buchanan
Dorothy Moore Buchanan, age 89, of Pisgah Forest passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Cedar Mountain House in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina where she resided for the last three years. Dorothy was married to the late Claude Buchanan. She is the daughter of the late George Harold and the late Katherine (Conley) Moore. Also preceding her in death was her siblings; Joe James Moore, George Harold Moore, Jr. and Betty Mae Moore.
Ms. Buchanan is survived by one sister, Sally McCoy of Seneca, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
After high school Dot received her degree in nursing in Greenville, SC and practiced her skills in nursing both in Jackson and Transylvania counties. She was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 3rd in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Tommy Madden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service .Burial will be in Carson Cemetery, Franklin.
