Obituary of Ila Winnona Stewart
Ila “Winnona” Stewart went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2018. A native and life-long resident of Jackson County, she loved living in the mountains, helping and doing for others. She had a deep love for her family and friends. She loved her church family and was known by grandchildren and great grandchildren as "Nanny." She was the wife of the late James Eugene “Gene” Stewart, daughter of the late Ted and Iowa Young. She was preceded in death by one grandson Jeremiah “Jeremy” Eugene Stewart; three sisters, Carolyn Nicholson, Florene Lambert, Murl Franks; one brother, Claude Young.
Surviving are her children; Roger Stewart, Sherry Ammons (Neil), Annette Biller (Gary), Judy Holland (Greg), Eddie Stewart and Janet Stewart; two sisters, Melva McCall, Reba Johnson; three brothers, Horace Young, Canler Young, Hale Young, and their spouses. Sixteen grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Hamburg Baptist Church with the Revs. Gregg Hammon, Josh Holden, Johnny Norris and Morris Tippett officiating. Isaac’s Well will be providing the music for the service. +The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Stewart Cemetery.
