Soon it will be a year since we lost our beautiful Lille. I miss her loving and nurturing spirit, easy laughter and sense of humor, and open-hearted way of sharing life with any she encountered. When I think of Lille, the first thing is I recall her voice which was song-like as she spoke. Music was in her fiber. I am so happy I told her how beautiful was her interpretation of “Mr. Bojangles” performed at her last WCU Dulcimer U. She sang and played it so “heart felt”, and she made it seem it was important to have heard my impression. Missing you more than I can say Dear Lille...
We’ll meet and play together again.

Lil might not have known my name but she knew my face. We were fellow members of the dulcimer world. I will miss seeing her at the next festivals and I’m so glad she passed through my life.

I just viewed a video of Lil singing "Mr. Bojangles" when she was at Dulcimer U this summer. A sad, yet beautiful moment in time. I'll remember Lil's wonderful smile, enjoyment of music and treasure her friendship. She is missed.

We will miss Lil a lot. We came to know each other through the dulcimer music via Pic n' Play of Sylva. She was always up and always smiling, and always had a can-do attitude. I once sent her a file listing all of the songs our dulcimer group sort of knew, and she sent it back with who wrote it, whether it was copy-writed or not, and whether there were lyrics. It seemed to take only the weekend! But it was the music, and the harmonies, for which we will remember her.

I will miss Lille more than words can say....she was the one who took me under her wings when I first started playing the Dulcimer, and through this music she will always have a special place in my heart! Keep strumming, dear Lille, with your wonderful friend Lynne, who I am sure greeted you with open arms! Love you always - Cornelia

Lil was a beautiful person--always laughing, always supportive, and always ready to play music! Lil and I played music together for about 15 years. One of my favorite memories is singing with her and hearing her wonderful harmony floating across the room. If she didn't remember the words, I did, and if I didn't remember them, she did. Another memory that I treasure is a time with only a little music. One cold winter day, Lil and I were the only two that showed up for one of our regular Pic N Play jams. That didn't stop us, though. For the next two hours we laughed; we talked about issues in our lives that weren't so great, and we played about four songs. That was a precious afternoon spent with my music sister Lil, and I'll miss her always.
