My wife, Joyce, and I were just thinking of Andrew and were wondering how he is doing, when Joyce googled his name, and we saw this obituary. We are very sorry for your lost. We became friends while we were both getting chemo for MDS, in 2014 at the Asheville VA.
Andrew even asked Joyce to make him a couple of crocheted hats, which she was very happy to do.
I am still hanging in there, but am now in Hospice care after we moved to Oscoda, Michigan in 2017.
We will always remember Andrews great humor and spiritual wishes.

I never met Andrew in person, but searched for him on Facebook after my husband passed away and I found Andrew’s name in some letters my husband had sent home to his mother while in the Corps. We began a Facebook correspondence and he was so kind to me in my grief and told me of some memories he had of serving with Buzz. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. Rest easy now with your comrades, Andrew! Semper Fi!

Andrew took care of my brother-in-law (cancer of lungs) 15 months later he returned to the same house and took care of my sister for the kind of cancer. I asked Andrew if we had got a cancer scan for my sister @ the time of her husband's death would my sister have survived. His answer was no. Andrew was very knowledge about his work, and he knew for my sister's cancer to that advanced that she was well on her way when her husband died. I loved his caring ways and I know it came from his heart. One did not need to ask him if he was a person of faith. It showed. Heaven's gain is truly our loss, but his reaping his rewards, his crowns will be many and well deserved.

Andrew certainly has a place in heaven. I worked with Andrew in hospice, which he once said was his calling and he was correct. Many lives were improved because of Andrews care. When he cared for people they felt like they were his only patient. I know all his old patients are welcoming him home. Thoughts and prayers for his family. He’s certainly in a better place with no sickness.
