Obituary of Martha Jane Phillips

Martha Jane Wilson Phillips, 77, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday October 3, 2018. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Sr. and Virginia Campbell Wilson. Martha was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Sylva and she loved bird watching, flowers, arts and crafts and her dog Wilson, who she loved dearly. She was the owner and operator of her own beauty salon and was very proud of her very lengthy heritage in Jackson County. She is survived by her son Johnny Phillips of Sylva Granddaughter- Savannah Grace (Eddie) Wells of Webster Brother- Richard Osbourne Wilson Jr. of Sylva Sister- Virginia (Ginny) Cochran of Haywood County One niece and 4 Nephews also survive. A Memorial Service will be held 2:30 pm Sunday October 7 at First Presbyterian Church of Sylva with the Rev. Blake Daniels officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:30 till 2:30 prior to the Service at the Church. . .
