Obituary of Ricky Harold Cogdill

Rick Cogdill, 61, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord Saturday evening November 17, 2018 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Newnan, Georgia. A native of Sylva, NC, he worked at Craggy Correctional Facility in Buncombe County as a Corrections Officer. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Mode and Faye Cogdill, his maternal grandparents; Bob and Lonnie Brown Harris and Bill and Gertrude Greenarch. He is survived by his Mother and Stepfather- Geneva Greenarch (James) Lineberry of Sylva His father- Harold Cogdill of Sylva 3 Daughters- Chelseay (Aaron) Hunt of Oklahoma Ashley (Jason) Montgomery of Missouri Jessica (Joshua) Messer of Florida 5 Grandchildren- Kirby, Reese, Grayson, Austin and Nora Brothers and Sisters- Tab, Billy and Dick Cogdill, Michelle Sutton, Darren and Todd Robinson all of Sylva Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday November 21, 2018 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Chaplain Steve Plemmons and Rev. Tim Pressley officiating. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Henry Cogdill Cemetery. . .
