Obituary of Marjorie Corrinne Muntz

Marjorie C. Muntz (nee Wison), 93, passed away peacefully November 7, 2018. Married for seventy years to her husband, Ernest G. Muntz, she had three children, Carolyn Crosthwaite (Hal) of Denville, New Jersey, Deborah Krehbiel (Tuck) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Dr. Howard G. Muntz (Dr. Barbara Goff) of Seattle, Washington. Six Grandchildren and seven great Grandchildren also survive. Born on Big Ridge, in Glenville, North Carolina, to Lyman and Bertie Mae Wilson, October 22, 1925, Marjorie grew up in Buffalo, New York, graduating from South Park High School. She graduated from Wheaton College (Illinois) in 1946, and taught senior English for two years before marrying in 1948. She then followed her husband as he pursued his academic career to Rochester, New York, Blue Mountain, Mississippi, Jackson, Tennessee and finally landing in Cincinnati in 1961. She served on the faculties of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, as well as the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University. While managing a growing family, she received her masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Cincinnati. In the retirement years, she remained equally active, traveling widely, even getting to Antarctica. A Graveside Service will be held back on Big Ridge, 11:00 am Thursday November 29, 2018, joining many members of her family, including her sister, Marcia Rumbaugh (Stan), in the small Church Cemetery, less than two miles from the white farmhouse (which still stands) where it all began, 93 years ago. . .
