Obituary of Geraldine Frizzell

Geraldine Frizzell, age 63, of Sylva passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Harrison Frizzell and the daughter of the late Ferry Green and Inez (Brooks) Ledford. She was retired as a CNA and worked in hotel management for fifteen years. She dearly loved her family and devoted her life to the care of animals. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one sister; Jane Patterson, one brother; Buddy Green and one nephew; Shannon (Bear) Painter. She is survived by her husband of 46 years; Harrison Frizzell, one son; Robert Green and one adopted son; Jamie McCoy. Five grandchildren also survive; Ashlyn Bates, Gage Green, Gavin Green, Cadence Green and Layla McCoy, along with two great grandchildren. Further surviving is her mother, Inez Ledford and four sisters; Linda Painter, Betty Hopkins, Sandra Evans and Sabrina Poston, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Greens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Appalachian Funeral Services from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 463 Airport Rd., Sylva, NC 28779.
