Dr. Chung was a truly a pioneer, a skilled surgeon, and an honorable man. He brought state of the art urological care to the southwestern counties of North Carolina and helped make a small community hospital into a respected regional hospital. Those of us who were privileged to work with Dr. Chung, particularly in those early days, can attest not only to his medical expertise but also to his patience and humor as we learned to communicate. ‘Excellence’ is the word that comes to my mind when I think of Dr. Chung, his career, and the example he set for those who come after.
