Obituary of Caro Lee Cole

Caro Lee Cole, 90, of Sylva went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2018. Caro was the son of the late William Bryson and Texanna Hutchinson Cole. Caro is preceded in death by three brothers; Otis, Wade and Frank Cole and one sister; Emeline Frizzell.

Caro, known as an entrepreneur and business owner, worked in electronics repairs and service; in horticulture as a commercial tomato and strawberry producer and in agriculture as a commercial dairy farmer for over 65 plus years. Caro was also a skilled welder, mechanic and carpenter. Caro’s favorite occupation was farming, and he loved nothing more than being on a tractor planting, bringing in the harvest and operating the dairy.

Caro was a member of the Webster Baptist Church and served as a deacon there.

Caro is survived by his wife of 69 years; Mildred Carpenter Cole and a son; Harold Lee Cole.

  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Appalachian Funeral Services with Revs. Scott Carter, David Powell and Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
