Obituary of Pauline Buchanan

Pauline C. Buchanan, age 86, of Sylva died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Mountain Trace Nursing Center in Sylva. Mrs. Buchanan was born September 30, 1924 in Bryson City, NC. She was a housewife, loving mother and mamaw . Pauline was a member of the Wesleyanna United Methodist Church. She is the daughter of the late David H. and the late Edith (Rogers) Clark. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Cash, Ray, and Clay Clark. She is survived by her husband; Cameron Lee Buchanan of the home; one daughter Pamela Buchanan Jackson and husband Charles; one son James Lee Buchanan and wife Mary all of Sylva; one brother Lyle Clark of Sylva; one sister Virginia Clark Nicar of Roanoke, VA; three grand children and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Sunday, May 29 at Appalachian Funeral Services. The funeral will be at 2pm Monday , May 30 in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Tommy Fouts, Avery Brown, and Charles Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the New Savannah Cemetery, Sylva. Pallbearers will be Alvin Wyatt, Jason Richie, Doug Buchanan, Tyson Buchanan, Lee Westmoreland, and Paul T. Buchanan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Savannah Cemetery Fund, PO Box 543, Webster, NC. .
