Obituary of Georgia Ann Fowler

Georgia Ann Reid Fowler, 85, of Cashiers, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday January 16, 2019. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Ethel Reid. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by her 3 sisters and 3 of her brothers. Along with her husband of 63 years, Adrion, they owned and operated Cashiers Hardware Store for more than 37 years. She was a member of Cashiers Baptist Church, where she enjoyed directing the youth choir for over 20 years. Georgia was also on the Highland-Cashiers Hospital Board as well as a member of the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad Auxiliary. Georgia also enjoyed clogging, and she clogged all over the country as well as at the White House, on the Jimmy Dean Show, Carnegie Hall and The Grand Ole Opry! She is survived by children; Nancy (Jimmy) McCall of Cashiers, Susan (Rick) Miles of Cashiers, Kim (Mike) Watt of Kennesaw, Georgia, Bubba (Gina) Fowler Jr. of Cashiers. 9 Grandchildren- Ernie Ashe, Cheyenne Fox, Nicholas Miles, Wesley Watt, Kyle Fowler, Austin Watt, Garrett Fowler, Adriann McCall and Mary-Katherine Watt 4 Great Grandchildren- Cristian Mireles, Austin Mireles, Kylie Eason, Landon Fowler 2 Brothers- Hilton and Bob Reid Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday January 19 at Cashiers Baptist Church with the Revs. Lewis Smith and Oliver Rice officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening (January 18) from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Church. Burial will be in Hamburg Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. .
