Obituary of Stella Mae Buchanan

Stella Mae Brooks Buchanan, 81, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning January 28, 2019. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Margaret Green Brooks. Stella Mae was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting and she loved to go fishing ! She loved her family and loved spending time with them all. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Carol James Buchanan, her sisters; Iris (Dewey), Betty (Ira), Amy (Zeb), her brothers; Allen, Eulas, Lewis, Esley, Johnny and her great grandson; Mason Lawson. She is survived by her 3 daughters- Teresa Burrell-DeHart of TN. Margaret Elaine Carter (Alvin) of Sylva Regina Lynn Middleton (Earl) of TN. 9 Grandchildren- Justin and Darren Carter, Travis (Kayla) Burrell, Kayla Bryson, Bethany Lawson, Melvin, Kristen, Cody and Levi Middleton 9 Great Grandchildren- Steven, Nala and Madison Carter, Kallie and Abbygail Burrell, Lilybeth and Evan Lawson, Payton and Ransom Seal Loving and caring companion- Clarence Hall Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday February 1, 2019 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Johnny Ray Davis and Larry Nations officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greens Creek Cemetery. .
