Obituary of Arilla Jones

Arilla M. Jones, 83, of Sylva, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Susie Cook McMahan. Arilla was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and she enjoyed gardening, cooking and helping her neighbors and she loved her grandkids dearly. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her daughter; Deborah Jane Watson, her grandson; Travis Dale Watson and by 7 of her siblings. She is survived by her husband of 64 years; Ed Jones Son- David Jones (Tracy) of Franklin Grandson- Russell Jones of Atlanta Granddaughter- Michelle Dillard (Keith) of Sylva Great Grandchildren- Clay and Lindsey Ballew Brothers- Troy and LC McMahan of Sylva Sister- Alice Henson of Franklin Son-in-law- Alfred Watson Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16 at Appalachian Funeral Services Chapel with Revs. Eddie Stillwell, Steve Webb, Keith Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. .
