Danny Ray Hall

May 11, 1951 - March 13, 2019

Danny Ray Hall, 67, left this world for a far better place on Wednesday, March 13. He was born in Sylva, NC, where he lived most of his life.

Danny graduated in 1969 from Sylva-Webster High School and worked for decades with the Hall Brothers Logging Company. Most recently, he worked for McNeely Trucking Company. Danny was devoted to his faith and friends at Old Savannah Baptist Church, where he was a member, deacon and choir director for many years. He was passionate about music, continuously uplifting those around him with song. A Sunday morning worship service was not complete without Danny praising the Lord before the choir and waving his hands toward Heaven.

Always an original, outgoing soul, Danny formed friendships with everyone he met, creating lasting impressions on others.

Danny was preceded in death by his father Claude and mother Dolores. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Wanda Jones Hall of Sylva; two daughters Lisa Junaluska (Mark) of Sylva and Amy Dixon (Paul) of Winston Salem; one sister Marsha Bates (Larry) of Sylva; two brothers Duane Hall (Robin) of Sylva and Kevin Hall (Andreina) of Waynesville; two grandchildren Colton and Madison Bailey of Sylva; one uncle Doug Hall (Sue) of Sylva; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16th at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC from 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Old Savannah Baptist Church on Sunday, March 17th at 3 pm with Rev. Austin Frady officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Savannah Cemetery.
