Obituary of Julia Debra Sherman
Julia Debra “Debbie” Sherman, 64, Big Ridge Road, Glenville, NC passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from complications of congestive heart failure. She was the eldest child of the late George Shook, Sr. and Betty Jo Hooper.
Debbie graduated from Glenville School. Her legacy will be helping others with kind words and deeds. She worked full time until she suffered a massive heart attack in April 2018.
Debbie is survived by her faithful and loving husband of forty-two years, Cyrus; two sisters, Janice (Brooke) Dunwoody and Betty Jean (Jeff) Davis; two brothers, George (Kim) Shook, Jr. and Jim (Gretchen) Shook; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Debbie will be remembered as someone who tenaciously fought a lifetime of painful illnesses and incurable autoimmune diseases, while maintaining a positive attitude and strong faith. She exceeded all medical prognoses. We honor her life and dignity with facing adversity.
A celebration of life service for Debbie will be held on Sunday May 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the historic Big Ridge Baptist Church, now Mountain Bible Church, 4536 Big Ridge Road, Glenville, NC. Pastor Charlie Jones will officiate.
