Obituary of Pat Walter Nations

Pat Walter Nations, age 84, of Whittier passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at John Keever Solace Center of Asheville, NC.  Pat was born July 27, 1934 in , NC. He is the son of the late Walter and the late Florence (Parker) Nations.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years Dora Jones. 

Pat served for two years in the United States Army. He held numerous jobs over his lifetime but his favorite was when he and Dora owned the candy shop in Dillsboro. Pat also enjoyed working the garden with his wife, farming and working with the cattle. He also served as a deacon at Serenity Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two grandsons Tyler Ashe and Josh Williams; one great granddaughter Carolina Ashe and one son in law Terry Ashe.

He is preceded in death by three daughters Brenda Lorene, Barbara Marueen and Marylin Connie.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Max Cochran, Rev. David Hall and Pastor Austin Frady officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Nations Creek Cemetery.
