Obituary of Carmel J Owen

Carmell Owen, 83, who was born and raised in Little Canada, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019. He was the son of the late Jess and Selma Owen. He was preceded in death by his wife Pansy Owen. 

Carmell worked for the NCDOT and he enjoyed hunting and piddling around. 

He is survived by three sons, Gary Owen, Doug Owen (Debbie) and Steven Owen (Heather); two grandchildren Amanda Scott (Daniel) and Cody Owen; three great grandchildren Zoey, Gauge and Briar; four brothers Charles, Harold, Briss and Daniel Owen. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

He was preceded in death by one sister Wanda Nealy and two brothers Dennis and Marvin Owen. 

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2:00pm at Mathis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Owen, Johnny Atkins, Carson Shuler, Boby Stevens, Barry Owen and Edward Golden.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, June 14 , 2019 at Appalachian Funeral Services.
