Obituary of Frances Griffin

Frances Griffin, age 80, Sylva, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Medwest Harris of Sylva, NC. Mrs. Griffin was born June 27, 1932 in Sylva. She is the daughter of the late Charles Robinson. and Donnie Ledford Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Fred Elbert Griffin, Sr.; two children, John R. Griffin and Mary Jane Griffin; a grandson, Michael Redoutey; and two brothers, Robert Robinson and Charles Robinson. She loved her family, especially her grandkids and was a wonderful mom. She enjoyed embroidery, and was a great cook and listener. She is survived by four sons, Charles, Bobby J., David, and Fred Griffin, all of Sylva; three daughters, Donna Gulledge of Raleigh, Ann Redoutey of Franklin, and Kathy Worley of Asheville; 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Wilkey of Sylva and Alma Buxton of Ohio; and a brother, Don Robinson of Sylva. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva on Monday July 2, 2012 at 11am, with the Rev. Johnny Ray Davis officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parris Cemetery, Sylva. . .
