I was so sorry to hear about Francis's passing. I taught Francis in a variety of courses Francis was a wonderful student - he always had worthwhile comments to make and questions to ask. He was a diligent student and clearly had great potential. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

Francis will be missed. I knew him as a student and IT staff at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He was a role model for professors and for students as well. He shared his experiences with all of us; very insightful and rich perspectives on databases and technology. He was a role model for all of us as he overcame excruciating hurdles and kept producing and being resourceful in his life. He is a model for endurance, perseverance and strong will. God bless his soul.

I regret not being able to attend the memorial service today but wanted to share my condolences with the family. The Francis I remember was the most independent individual I have ever encountered. Extremely intelligent,he always had an opinion about things, often one from a point of view that I had never thought about. He was happiest, I believe, with his Sylva friends. I loved the great cookout he shared at the first band reunion and so did everyone who sampled his fare. Francis had a lot of talents and if he was your friend, it was always important. One of my favorite times with Francis was a golf outing with he and Brad Morgan at Waynesville Country Club. He had stocked up on a huge pack of "Big Red" chewing gum before we started. While we putted out on #1, a squirrel went into his golf cart and darted off with his gum. It was unforgettable to see him chasing after that squirrel with golf club in hand while Brad was almost on the ground laughing. The entire round was spent speculating about what condition that poor animal must have been in after eating that chewing gum.
I know that he absoultely lived and died with Carolina basketball and that Brad will miss the almost constant phone calls during their games. Francis was truly one of a kind and the world will not be the same without him.

Dear Family,
So sorry to hear of Francis' passing. He was such a good friend during school. Just lost track of him during our adult lives. Just reconnected while planning our class reunion last year. You are all in my prayers. I still just can't believe that he and so many of our friends in class of 1973 are gone.
Love and Blessings to you all
