Obituary of Ruth H Porter

Ruth H Porter, 70, passed away unexpectedly Monday August 20, 2012 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. A Native of Florida, she was the daughter of the late J Carl and Anita Hawley Hartin. A resident of Western North Carolina since 1976, she was a Member of Sylva First Presbyterian Church. She retired from the American Cancer Society and was the current manager of the Pathways Thrift Store. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother George. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Porter 4 Sons- James and his wife Jackie of Cherokee David and his wife Jenny of Sylva Michael and his fianc April of Whittier Scott and his wife Leigh of Sylva 2 Daughters- Robin Porter of Sylva Karissa Henson and her husband Anthony of Sylva 10 Grandchildren- Lee, Robert, JC and Kyleigh Porter, Adam and Aaron Henson, Jacob and Clinton Porter, Madison and and Grady Hunter And too many friends to list A Celebration of Life service will be held on September 23, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Sylva.
