Obituary of Bernice Rogers Elliott
Bernice Rogers Elliott, 91, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 4, 2019. She was born in Tellico Plains, Tennessee and grew up in Graham County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Walter J. Evans and Grace Shaw Evans. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Harold Richard Rogers, her husbands; James Glenn Rogers and Archie V. Elliott, brothers; Lesley Evans, Bill Evans, J.D. Evans and Claude Evans, sisters; Jean McKeldrey Orren and Joann Evans Higdon.
She is survived by her daughter; Lois Rogers Cline and son-in-law John of Franklin
Granddaughter- Sonia Irene Hooper of Sylva
Sister- Ethel Evans Cunningham of Andrews, NC
She retired from Skyland Textile in Sylva and was a member of East Sylva Baptist Church. She loved sewing, quilting, working in her garden and flowers, canning, cooking, sitting on her porch and spending time with family and friends.
A Celebration of her life will be held 11:00 am Friday July 12, 2019 at East Sylva Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Dean officiating. The family will recieve friends immediatley following the Service at the Church.
