Obituary of Carroll Ned Henson

Carroll N. Henson, 83, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday afternoon, July 9, 2019. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late James Lee and Gladys Shuler Henson. A lifelong member of the Church he loved; Buff Creek Baptist Church, he had retired from Dayco Corp. and was a U.S.Army Veteran. He was a nature lover and an animal lover and was an avid fisherman. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he never met a stranger !  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Brenda Clark and his niece Donna.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Shirley Hughes Henson

Daughter- Tammera Stewart of Sylva

Granddaughter- Cassie Stewart of Sylva

Great Granddaughter- Serenity Cooper

and his constant companion- Luna

Numerous cousins also survive

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday July 14, 2019 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Kent Loudermilk officiating. The family will recieve friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home.
