Obituary of Grace Queen

Grace "Nanny" Queen, 90, of Sylva, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2019. She was the wife of the late T.H. Queen and the daughter of the late Ira and Luta Queen.

She was a member of Ochre Hill Baptist Church. She loved baking, cooking and her flowers. Grace dearly loved her family. Her great grandsons; Thomas and Tyler were the apple of her eye and she was the apple of their eyes. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one son; Edwin Queen, one brother, three sisters and a son-in-law; Rick Kreigsman. 

Grace is survived by one daughter; Edna Kreigsman, one granddaughter; Heather Long and two great grandsons; Thomas and Tyler. She is also survived by her special caregiver; Jeff Long, whom she dearly loved. One brother; Granville Queen and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, NC with the Revs. John Swanger and Joe Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 pm.
