Obituary of Vaughn Brown

Vaughn Brown, 80, of Tuckasegee, went home to be with the Lord and his family, Tuesday August 20, 2019. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County he was the son of the late Claude and Bertie Brown. Vaughn was a Member and Deacon at Sol's Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing his mandolin and loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting.  Vaughn cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he was loved and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his nine brothers and sisters. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Colleen Brown

His children; Larry (Karen) Brown of Lake Toxaway, Lisa (Leonard) Hoxit of Cashiers and Russell (Stephanie) Brown of Sylva

7 Grandchildren- Stephanie (Wayne), Cody (Amber), Brittany (Charlie), Travis (Joanna), Aaron (Jordyn), Sarah (Josh), Adam (Tabitha)

12 Great Grandchildren- Stella, Maddox, Gavin, Allie, Bruce, Makinley, Lawson, Gus, Natalie, Madi, Finn and Myles

Numerous nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday August 22, 2019 at Sol's Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Herman Mathis, Marcus Owen and Carl Adams officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
