Obituary of Dannette Kathleen Garcia

Dannette Kathleen Garcia, 57, of Tuckasegee, passed away Saturday September 21, 2019. A native of Michigan, she had been a resident of Jackson County for over 25 years. She was the daughter of Norma Elton of Tavares, Florida and the late Daniel Maus. 

A U.S. Navy veteran she retired after serving her country for 28 years. She enjoyed tutoring and translating for local children.  In addition to her father she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Elton. 

Besides her mother she is survived by her husband of over 20 years Juan Meza

3 Children- Nicole Raber of Tuckasgee, Joey Raber of Virginia and Javier Aaranz of China

7 Grandchildren- Magdalena, Vera, Helena, Adriana, Dominique, Isiah and Roselyn

3 Brothers; Randy, Tony and Brad (Tammy) Elton

and a special aunt Beverly Care of Michigan

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva, NC. Burial will follow in the Shook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 pm at the funeral Home.
