Obituary of "Chubb" Buchanan

Charles "Chubb" Gordon Buchanan, 79, of Whittier, passed away Wednesday October 2, 2019.

Born November 20, 1939 in Sylva, N.C., he was the son of the late James Gudger and Emma Viola Buchanan of Greens Creek. 

Chubb was a retired heavy equipment operator and an avid gardener. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Martha Jane Nations Buchanan and his daughter, Greta Donna Buchanan, as well as his brothers Vernon, Carol, Harold Dean and his sister Elizabeth. 

He is survived by; 

2 Sons- Gordon "Dale" Buchanan (Susan) of Sylva and Gary "Dean" Buchanan (Linda) of Whittier

1 Daughter- Gloria Reddish (James) of Whittier

The lucky seven grandchildren- Nathan Buchanan of the home, Drew, Clay, Jared, Kristen, Keri Buchanan and Karen Reddish

Also survived by two brothers, Ronald and Lowell Buchanan (Linda) of Sylva, four sisters; Barbara Cabe, Stella Wike (Orville), Wanda Brooks and Audrey Sue Jones (Ronald) of Sylva

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday October 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greens Creek Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Drew, Clay, Jared Buchanan, Keith and Cody Nations, Keith Brooks

Honorable Pallbearers will be Paul Lewis, Wayne Smith, BT Greene, Myrl Brown, Charles Ray Elders
