Obituary of Michael Harris

Michael Harris, 49, of Sylva, passed away Friday October 11, 2019. A native and a lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of Helen Thomas Harris of Sylva and the late Jerry Harris. Michael had worked as a Traffic Engineer for NCDOT before opening his own shop, Millennium Graphics and most recently Signwerks of Sylva. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan as well as a Nascar Fan. He enjoyed installing Audio systems and detailing graphics on automobiles. Michael never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by his grandparents Margie and Robert Harris. 

He is survived by his mother, Helen Harris of Sylva

2 Sons- Alex of Sylva

              Noah of Kingsport, TN

Special Daughter- Madison Morton of Johnson City, TN

2 Grandsons- Sam and Grayson

Last love of his life- Kim Watson

Lifelong friend- John McMahan

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday October 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell, Mike Moore and Roger Stewman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. In addition to flowers a Love offering can be made to Appalachian Funeral Services to help with the costs of the service.
