Obituary of Naomi Seago

Naomi "Nicki" Seago, age 87, of Clyde, NC passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Silver Bluff Village in Canton, NC. She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Seago and the daughter of the late Dewey and Bessie Beck. 

She was a member of Crabtree United Methodist Church in Crabtree, NC. She and Bob were involved in the founding of the Barkers Creek Cemetery Organization and enjoyed their participation with the chicken and dumplings fundraisers. Naomi loved traveling and working crossword puzzles and was a member of the Jackson County Genealogical Society. The highlight of her year was the annual Sylva High School reunion. She dearly loved her family and staying connected with their various activities. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one son; Randal Kelly Seago, one sister; Dorothy Beck and one niece; Regina Kilpatrick.

Naomi is survived by two granddaughters; Paige and Elayna Seago, one daughter-in-law; Judy Seago (Jerry Parker), one niece; Donna (Jack) Mershon, one great nephew; Jason Evans and one great great nephew; Tyler Evans. She is also survived by a very special friend; Keturah Buchanan and her two sons; Noah and Trevor, who were like family to her. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva, NC, with Rev. Devere Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Barkers Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
