Charles and I were friends from when he first moved to Indiana until his passing. I knew/know and worked with several of Christine's brothers. I have so many memories of her. Her visits to Indiana, my visits to NC where I stayed with her and Charles. Once we all met up for a family party over in Hyden,Kentucky .I was living about 20 mins away then. Christine took me get my nails done (first time ever) she toured shops with me, took me to see a train that was used in a famous movie. She taught me about Fenton glassware. She had such a kind and gentle way. Always treated me like family. Sometimes when I would call Charles Christine and I would spend more time talking to each other than I talking to him. She showed me her scrap books and taught me about her family history. We both shared jobs in health care and would talk about the difference in the Nursing Homes we worked. God gain a true angel when he took her home. I never knew until the past few days she was born the same year as my own Mother. She will be missed by many.

I am so sorry to hear that Christine passed away. I'm one of the "Koontz Clan", as Mama used to call us. Mama and the other women of the Beech community sure did love Christine! And so did I; what a great sense of humor she had, and how very down-to-earth she was! I think that must be what the women admired about her - that she could be a pastor's wife but also be human, and real. That is so important, and she showed us all how. And I was so surprised and SO appreciative when she showed up at my grandmother's funeral in 2004! She had long since moved from the Weaverville area, and Mama was in the early-ish stages of Alzheimer's, so I know she didn't hear about Mamaw's death from Mama. But there Christine was, and it meant so much to me! (and to Mama too; Mama just wouldn't have remembered it later). Much love to all of you; may God's love and comfort hold you.

Christine was a close friend of the family & second mom to me (Jill). I stayed many nights at their home in Andrews growing up. She always welcomed me and treated me like one of her own. She was a wonderful Christian lady that made a very positive impact on my life. She was always a light in the room, had many friends, was a fantastic cook, and in her career she enjoyed helping others. She was highly thought of by many & will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Thankfully, those wonderful memories of "Chris" will remain.
We send thoughts, prayers, support and peace to the family during this difficult time. Love you all.
