I remember growing up with Shawn in our old neighborhood, Country Club South, in our mid to late teens. He lived 6 doors down from me, and was one of the wildest friends that i had. He had an absolute love for heavy metal music and could play the guitar like no one i have ever seen. Self taught too. He could listen to a piece of music and play it back to you, without any sheet music in front of him. That's how talented he actually was. I remember he also had a love for military aircraft, and could tell you any plane that was in the sky. Shawn as most of you would know, also loved the outdoors, and it was hard keeping him off of his bike. He would ride absolutely everywhere. He truly was one-of-a-kind. Unique is so many different ways. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Shawn, you truly will be missed.

My deepest condolences to Shawn's family and friends, my thoughts and prayers will be with you all.
I had the opportunity to meet Shawn about 2.5 years ago at a remodeling job I was doing in Waynesville. Shawn came out to look at the repairs the chimney needed. With in about 10 minutes I could tell that Shawn was deeply passionate about his Job and Cycling. He invited me to Mountain bike with him in the upcoming weeks, but "life" got in the way and I never took Shawn up on his offer to ride with him. I truly regret that decision, and wish I had gone riding with Shawn and could have experienced his love of Cycling.
Life is short and people are fragile.
