Obituary of Claude Harold Tallent

Claude H Tallent, age 99, a man of faith and family passed away peacefully Friday, January 31, 2020. Claude’s greatest love was his family, and they will forever hold him in their hearts. He was loved by all that knew him and will be dearly missed. Claude was an Army WWII Vet. He retired from The Town of Sylva after 38 years. In addition to his parents, Grady and Lydia Young Tallent, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy Wilson Tallent of 58 years, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, a daughter, Linda Mull, 3 grandchildren, Rhonda Bradley, Michelle Fox, Sharon Fox. Claude is survived by one son and three daughters; Kenneth Tallent, Catherine Pannell, Sandra Ridley, and Kay Franks (Radford), 16 grandchildren; Wayne Tallent (Tanya), Bobby Burnley, Randy Tallent, Ricky Pannell (Anita), Sherry Hoxit (Donnie), Tammy Keaton (Don), Tim Pannell (Mandy), Melanie Sather (Randy), Jamie Mull (Suzanne), Karen Baggett, Amy Fox, Lisa Wykle, Kim Strum, Gina Franks, Jessica Franks and Chad Franks, 27 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Sunday, February 02, 2020 in the chapel at Appalachian Funeral Home, with Revs Larry Bryson and Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
