I feel very fortunate to have known Padgett for many years. He truly was a man who loved life, his family and friends and was a man of truth, honesty and integrity. There have been so many wonderful things said about Padgett and he was so loved by all of his family and friends. One thing that I can say is, I was very proud to call him my brother in law. He was a wonderful husband to Carolyn, a great father to his children and a loving grandfather to Gavin and Adrienne. He was loved and he will be missed.

To The Family of James Padgett McCoy, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the entire family. Whenever we lose someone whom we love so dearly, it can bring unimaginable pain. As you face this most difficult time, I pray that you can find peace and comfort in God's promise at Rev. 21:3,4 He will soon "wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." What a beautiful ,peaceful time we have to look forward to. Please hold this promise close to your mind and heart. As you do, you all with dwell kindly in my thoughts and prayers. With warm Christian love and deep respect.

We were so sorry to hear about Padgett. One of my favorite memories growing up was going to Grandma and Grandpa Cables then walking back down to the F&P go get candy with the money that Grandpa gave us. Padgett was always so good to us and to everyone. He will surely be missed.

Ms. McCoy and family;I wish to express my condolences to you.Back in the early 70's,Padgett sold me a double wide. He,my wife and myself went to Charlotte in his V.W. to choose exactly what we wanted inside the home.We had a fun day just riding and swapping tales.he gave me a square deal and kept his word on whatever we wanted. We were from Macon Co.,so we had a lot in common to talk about.
Sincerely,Richard Young,Franklin,NC

I will never forget the man with the smile ath the F & P, where as a kid I always loved to get candy with small change I had earned for chores and later in life putting hot dogs together at his flea markets in the trailer, that I think still sits at Gateway Mobile Homes. Never will their be a more honest and caring man in Jackson County than "Mr. Chili Dog Homself", Mr. Padgett McCoy. Patrick, you still look just like him, and you have some big shoes to fill, my friend.
With Love,
Gary M. Shular
