Obituary of Barbara Green

Barbara A. Green, age 84, of Sylva died Friday, October 5, 2012. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Scott and the late Eva Buchanan Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Green; a grandson Chris Green, and two brothers Edward and Jimmy Allen. Barbara loved her family and church family, cooking, making quilts and collecting angels. The light of her life was her grandson, Quaid Wilt. Barbara is survived by her sons Gerald and wife Gladys Green and Jackie and wife Brenda Green; one brother Lyndon Allen of Whittier; one sister Pauline Allison of Sylva and one grandson Quaid Wilt. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday October 7, 2012 at Appalachian Funeral Services. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday October 8, 2012 in Greens Creek Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Tom Lavin and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating.
